U.S. Airport Parking or U.S.A. Airport Parking?

or U.S.A. Airport Parking? Neither! USA Parks? USA Parking? US Parking? Nope!
Actually, it's
USAirport Parking (click here for the home page) - the big
Denver off-airport parking facility on Tower Road
just north of Peña Boulevard, serving Denver International Airport.
I've come to realize that our name really confusing -
long time customers, and even a few employees, will refer to us as USA Airport or USA Airport
Parking.
The core of the confusing problem is in our name and logo: The letters USA are
in red and the rest of name ("irport PARKING") in our logo is in blue.
What jumps out at the eye? The letters "USA!"
So why not just change our name to something less confusing? Well, a lot of
people know who we are with our current name - We've probably had about a
million unique visitors to our parking lot since we opened our facility on
Tower Road, and would be even more confusing to change it. The logo and
name were in place long before
we opened. Hey, I'd have been more partial to something shorter and more
memorable (How about "Park It!" Less letters means you can use bigger font
on advertising for great visibility), but once you've started with a logo, it's
really hard to change. Besides, it makes us sound really big and important.
We are really just the one parking facility that serves
Denver International Airport,
but people often think I'm a really important executive of a huge national
parking company when they see "USAirport Parking" on my business card - why not
enjoy it!
The biggest place that the name creates
confusion is the Internet. Plenty of people looking for us search on
USA Airport Parking, U.S. Airport Parking, USA Airport, or U.S.A. Airport.
When we first opened in 1998, the Internet was something that people invested
in, but didn't actually use. We were one of the few parking facilities that
actually had a website. Today, our website
gets more hits in a few hours than we got in 1998 in a month - the US Airport Parking
website had 1400 visitors and logged about 150 reservations
in only one day just before Christmas last year.
Search engines are where the big problem is: US Airport Parking generates a whole
different set of results than USAirport Parking. Who would have thought that the
little space between the "US" and the "Airport" would make such a big difference?
Periods? U.S. Airport Parking or US Airport Parking. That may make a difference
has well. And USA Airport Parking? A completely new set of results.
The white pages can be another area where the name creates confusing. There
are at lot of "US," "USA," "U.S.," and "U.S.A" businesses. Further, I've
noticed that our local yellow page people can seem a little confused about
how to alphabetize all of these businesses. We could buy some extra listings,
but I've got no idea where U.S. Airport Parking, u.s. airport parking,
u.s.a. airport parking, u.s. parking, u.s.a. parking, or other common misperceptions would
show up in the Denver book.
In order to try to guide customers that are looking for us, however they
remember our name,
